foot exercises

Cooped up in shoes all day, your feet will really appreciate a decent work-out every now and then. Try these exercises – they’re not only good for you, they’re rather fun too.

Big toe stretches
Put a thick rubber band around your two big toes and try to pull them away from each other.  Hold the position for 5 seconds and repeat 5 to 10 times.

Toe stretches
Now put a rubber band around all the toes of one foot and spread your toes. Hold the position for 5 seconds and repeat 5 to 10 times.

Golf ball massage
Roll a golf ball with the soles of your feet for around 2 minutes each. Feels good, doesn’t it? And it’s great for arch strain.

Towel clinches
Put a small towel on the floor and try to pick it up, using only your toes. Hold for 5 seconds, repeat 5 times. Then try the other foot. Good for toe-cramp sufferers – and everybody else for that matter.

Marble pickups
Ever wondered what marbles are for?  Here's the answer.  Place 10 or 20 of them on the floor, pick up one at a time and put them in a bowl.  Now try the other foot.

Sand walking
If you’ve got a sand-pit in the garden, you’re in luck. Otherwise, when you get the chance, find a sandy beach, take your shoes and socks off and walk around. This not only massages your feet – it strengthens your toes too.

Contains terbinafine. Always read the label.
