love your feet

To keep your feet healthy, follow these basic rules:

  • Wash your feet regularly and carefully with warm water and gentle soap. Dry them thoroughly, especially between the interdigital spaces.
  • If your skin’s dry, use a moisturiser.
  • Examine your feet regularly for cuts, blisters, calluses, corns or Athlete’s Foot.
  • Don’t cut corns or calluses; treat them with a cream from your pharmacist. If this doesn’t work, see a podiatrist.
  • Don’t cut ingrown toenails yourself – see a podiatrist.
  • Keep your feet warm – but not too warm.
  • Wear comfortable, good-fitting shoes.
  • Don’t spend all day in trainers.
  • Don’t wear the same shoes every day.
  • Take off your shoes at some point in the day.

Tips on choosing shoes

A lot of the common foot ailments are caused by badly-fitting shoes. So choose new shoes with care:

  • Always have both your feet measured. Your feet tend to change shape a little as you grow older, and your feet can be different sizes. Buy shoes to fit the larger foot.
  • Shoes should feel good immediately. Don’t believe the salesperson’s claims that they’ll become more comfortable.
  • Feet tend to swell during the day, so you should shop for shoes later in the day.
  • Shoes should be about half an inch longer than your big toe when you’re standing. The heel should be snug enough to prevent the shoe from slipping up and down.

Contains terbinafine. Always read the label.
